Rachel Gold talks with Joystiq about her novel Being Emily, trans* advocacy, and queer communities in World of Warcraft. There are a few problems here – Ms. Gold, who is not trans, seems rooted in the trans* activism of a decade past, and the phrase “male-bodied” makes me want to tear my hair out – but there’s good conversation about online gaming and lgbtqia people. Those curious about her novel can read more about it here.
